What’s Included in Your Veneer Consultation and Process

We understand that veneers are a significant cosmetic investment. That’s why we guide you through every step with expertise and artistry. Here’s what the veneer process includes:

Smile Analysis and Design

We’ll listen to your goals, examine your smile, and discuss what’s possible. Using digital imaging, we’ll show you a preview of how veneers will transform your smile so you know exactly what to expect.

Tooth Preparation, Impression and Mold

We’ll prepare your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel from the front surface. This allows the veneers to fit seamlessly with your natural teeth.

We’ll take precise impressions of your prepared teeth. These molds ensure your veneers fit perfectly, match your bite, and blend seamlessly with your natural teeth. We’ll match your desired tooth shade and shape.

Temporary and Permanent Veneer Placement

While your permanent veneers are being created in our lab (typically one to two weeks), we’ll place temporary veneers to protect your teeth and maintain your appearance.

Once your permanent veneers are ready, we’ll remove the temporary veneers and check the fit, shade, and bite of your new smile. We’ll make any adjustments needed, then permanently bond them in place.

Veneer Material Options

Veneers are most commonly made from porcelain, which looks natural, resists staining, and lasts many years. We offer high-quality porcelain veneers that match your natural tooth color and translucency perfectly.

How Long Do Porcelain Veneers Last?

With proper care, porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or longer. Brushing and flossing carefully, avoiding hard or sticky foods, and scheduling regular checkups will extend the life of your veneers.

FAQ

Porcelain Veneers FAQ

How many teeth can I get veneers on?

Veneers can be placed on a single tooth or multiple teeth. Many patients choose to veneer their front six to eight teeth for a complete smile transformation.

Will my veneers look natural?

Yes. Modern porcelain veneers are custom-designed to match your natural teeth perfectly, including color, shape, and translucency. They look and feel completely natural.

How long does the veneer process take?

The entire process typically takes two to three weeks from consultation to final placement. Some practices offer same-day veneers, but we prefer taking time to ensure perfect results.

Do veneers require special care?

No special care is needed. Brush and floss your veneers just like your natural teeth. Avoid very hard foods and don’t use your teeth as tools.

Can veneers be whitened if they become discolored?

Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant and cannot be whitened. However, they’re designed to resist staining much better than natural teeth. If they do become discolored, they can be replaced.

Can veneers fix a bad bite?

Veneers address cosmetic concerns but don’t correct bite problems. If you have a bite issue, we may recommend orthodontics before or after veneer placement.

Are veneers permanent?

Veneers are not permanent because some enamel is removed during preparation. However, they’re designed to last many years. If you decide to remove them in the future, you’ll need a crown or other restoration.

Do you serve patients in Chesterfield, Richmond, and Lenox?

Our office is in New Haven, but we serve patients from across Macomb County, including Chesterfield, Richmond, Lenox, and surrounding communities. We’re a short drive from most of these towns.
